Assumptions are Toxic to Relationships

Not only do assumptions have the power to destroy a relationship, it is not uncommon for them to do exactly that. Assumptions come in two flavors, direct and indirect. A direct assumption is something that one person believes, regardless of whether the assumption can be verified in reality. Essentially, it is something that cannot or has not been proved true that a person responds to emotionally as if it is true. Indirect assumptions are ideas that come from an outside source, or basically things that we hear from other and believe to be true without verification.
