Blaming a partner for something, whether or not it seems justified, is one of the best ways to screw up a relationship, according to medical doctor and “blame expert” Neil Farber. He has written previously on the negative consequences of playing the blame game on the person pointing the fingers, but this article focuses on the negative effects blaming has on the blamed. The first point is that constant blame is a form of emotional abuse, especially when a person is being blamed for something they didn’t do. But whether or not a person did something, blame is not an ideal way to communicate.
