How to Express Feelings… and How Not to

If you wish to feel close to people and experience intimacy, knowing how to express your feelings is going to be crucial to achieving those goals. Expressing your feelings in a way that doesn’t come off as rude or hurtful allows you to express how you’re feeling in a way in which you and others can understand them and figure out how to work through them. This can be especially important in relationships. The sharing generally begins with, “I feel…,” rather than, “You make me feel…,” and is followed by whatever feeling is relevant to the situation.
